Dolet was a famous French translator of the 16th-century. Our Dolet® software is also a translator, but this time between different music programs that previously would never talk to each other. If you're a Sibelius user, you know that it has been difficult to share your music with people who use other programs. Now, Dolet for Sibelius unchains your music. Together with Finale 2008 or Dolet 4 for Finale, you can now share your music created with Sibelius with people who use Finale. The same is true for the other music applications that read MusicXML files. Finally, the limits to digital sheet music exchange are gone. Dolet 1 for Sibelius is a plug-in for Sibelius 2.1 and 3.1 that saves files in MusicXML 1.0 format on both Windows and Macintosh. While it also works with Sibelius 4 and 5, we recommend using Dolet 3 for Sibelius with these more recent versions of Sibelius in order to get the most accurate translations possible. The Windows version is available as a Zip file. The Macintosh version is available as a StuffIt file. It's the same software, just in different packaging. Learn more about Dolet for Sibelius, including examples of the differences between using MusicXML and MIDI files to move music from Sibelius to Finale. Note that Dolet for Sibelius writes MusicXML files, but does not read them. Sibelius 4 and 5 can read MusicXML files directly, so no plug-in is required. Due to limitations on Sibelius plug-ins, Dolet for Sibelius is not available in "try-before-you-buy" mode. Terrific products -- thank you for providing a new musical lingua franca to help us use both Finale and Sibelius to serve our clients to best advantage! - David Bailey, composer and engraver |
