But if you have tried to do this in the past, what do you use? MIDI. MIDI is great for synthesizers, but it was never intended to be a format for sharing music notation. So it is not surprising that it does not do it very well. The MusicXML™ format breaks down these proprietary barriers between applications. Now applications that read and write MusicXML files can share data back and forth with far greater notational accuracy than MIDI will ever provide. But how do you translate back and forth between these programs? Many programs support reading and writing MusicXML files directly in their File menu. Just like MIDI files, you save a MusicXML file from one application, and read the MusicXML file into another application. But MusicXML preserves the music notation information that MIDI discards. Our Dolet® programs provide high-quality translators between the MusicXML format and different applications. With our Dolet plug-ins for Sibelius and Finale, Sibelius users and Finale users can now share files more easily and accurately than ever before. Finale and Sibelius 4 users can read files created by SharpEye Music Reader or capella-scan, and create files for new products like MuseBook Score and old favorites like SCORE. MusicXML technology makes it all possible. Want to learn more about MusicXML technology and Dolet software?
